Stop Smoking Pill
Anybody
who has attempted smoke cessation of any kind will be fully aware of the complexity and difficulty involved. It is for this exact reason that an increasing number of people are beginning to seek the help of stop smoking aids such as stop smoking pills. So called established treatments have often been received with mixed results, leaving people somewhat pessimistic about them. However, the latest and most anticipated stop smoking drug, Chantix truly poses an exception. Approved by the FDA in 2006, it has enjoyed such large success rates and has become the most popular smoking cessation drug.
While there are a number of over-the-counter stop smoking pills, there are only a couple of prescription- FDA approved smoking pills available to date. For example, the prescription medication Zyban has had moderate success rates. It was originally developed as an antidepressant, until it was found to help with quitting smoking, although its functional abilities are yet to be fully understood. However, this said, Chantix has experienced a 44% success rate, and comes highly recommended in medical circles
There are also a number of other smoking pills, readily available over the counter, including sugar pills and nicotine related products. Already established, they have produced very mixed results, allowing only the most determined of patients to become smoke-free. Developed as a replacement for a cigarette, on the basis of slowly 'weaning' the smoker off of nicotine, these products will not serve to reduce the side effects adequately.
